Project Engineer for Sustainable Community Development

Sörmland Vatten och Avfall AB is responsible for producing and delivering high-quality drinking water, managing and treating wastewater, and handling household waste responsibly. We utilize our by-products by producing and delivering climate-friendly biogas and returning plant nutrients to productive farmland.

We are now looking for a Project Engineer

We are now looking for a project engineer who wants to work for sustainable community development and contribute to the future of water and wastewater solutions. Sörmland Vatten och Avfall AB is in an expansion phase, and we need to strengthen our project department to meet the challenges and opportunities we face.

What will you do?

As a project engineer with us, you will work on the design of our water and wastewater pipeline networks. Your tasks will include:

  • Designing and dimensioning pipelines and facilities
  • Creating drawings and technical documents
  • Preparing tender documents and quantity calculations
  • Coordinating pipeline installations and other technical solutions
  • Collaborating with colleagues, consultants, and contractors to ensure that projects meet our high standards for quality and functionality
  • Providing support during procurement and evaluation of bids.

You will work in a dynamic environment where you will have the opportunity to develop and take responsibility for projects of varying sizes and characteristics. The position also involves close collaboration with our technical departments and ongoing contact with municipalities and external parties.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a technical background in construction, civil engineering, water and wastewater technology, or similar, as well as experience in design within water and wastewater or infrastructure. You have post-secondary education and good knowledge of programs such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and Naviate, as well as experience with AMA and contract law.

As a person, you are structured and can manage multiple projects simultaneously without losing focus on details. You are cooperative and build good relationships with both colleagues and external parties. Your problem-solving ability allows you to quickly find solutions to technical and practical problems. Additionally, you are responsible and flexible, which enables you to adapt to changes and prioritize the project's best interests. Your focus on quality and cost-effectiveness will be crucial to your success in the role.
